Constructed during the Sengoku period (Warring States period) in the late 16th century, the castle was a creation of Gamo Ujisato, a notable feudal lord. Although the original main keep was lost to a fire in the 19th century, the remnants of Koriyama Castle remain an intriguing testament to Japan's architectural and historical past. Horyu-ji is a Buddhist temple located in Ikaruga, Nara Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the oldest wooden structures in the world, dating back to the 7th century, and is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The temple was founded in 607 by Prince Shotoku, who played a key role in the introduction of Buddhism to Japan. It was originally called Ikaruga-dera, but its name was later changed to Horyu-ji, which means "Temple of the Flourishing Law." The complex includes a large pagoda, a main hall, a lecture hall, and numerous smaller buildings.

The main hall, or Kondo, houses some of the oldest surviving wooden statues in Japan, including a statue of Shaka Nyorai, the historical Buddha. The pagoda, which stands at 32 meters tall, is one of the oldest wooden structures in the world and is an important example of East Asian architecture.

Byodo-in is a Buddhist temple located in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The temple was originally constructed in 998 AD during the Heian period, but the current buildings were built during the 11th century. The temple is famous for its Phoenix Hall (Hō-ō-dō), a national treasure that is one of the few surviving examples of Heian period architecture.

The Phoenix Hall is a two-story building that features a large statue of Amida Buddha on the first floor, and a smaller statue of the Buddha surrounded by 52 statues of bodhisattvas on the second floor. The hall is surrounded by a pond that represents the Pure Land of Amida Buddha, and is connected to the main gate of the temple by a bridge.

In addition to the Phoenix Hall, the temple also features a number of other buildings and structures, including a bell tower, a pagoda, and a museum that houses artifacts related to the temple's history. The temple is surrounded by gardens that are famous for their cherry blossoms in the spring and autumn leaves in the fall.

The temple has undergone numerous renovations and restorations over the centuries, and is considered to be one of the best-preserved examples of Heian period architecture in Japan. In 1994, the temple was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the "Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto" listing.

Todai-ji is a Buddhist temple complex located in the city of Nara, Japan. It was founded in the 8th century during the Nara period and is considered one of the most significant temples in Japan. The main hall of Todai-ji, called the Daibutsuden, houses the world's largest bronze statue of the Buddha Vairocana, also known as the Great Buddha of Nara.

The Daibutsuden was originally constructed in the early 8th century and was one of the largest wooden buildings in the world at the time. However, it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times throughout its history due to fires and earthquakes. The current building, which dates back to the 17th century, is only two-thirds the size of the original.

The Great Buddha statue is housed inside the Daibutsuden and stands at over 15 meters (49 feet) tall. It was completed in 752 and is a representation of the Buddhist principle of cosmic balance. The statue is surrounded by other large bronze sculptures of bodhisattvas, guardians, and heavenly kings.

Todai-ji is also home to several other important buildings, including the Hokke-do, a smaller temple that houses a statue of Yakushi Nyorai, the Buddha of healing. There is also a museum on the temple grounds that houses various artifacts and treasures from Todai-ji's long history.

The temple is surrounded by the Nara Park, which is home to hundreds of deer that are considered sacred messengers in Japanese culture. Visitors to the temple can purchase special crackers to feed the deer and interact with them up close.
