Al Saleh Mosque, also known as Al Saleh Islamic Centre, is a mosque located in Sana'a, Yemen. It is one of the largest mosques in the world, with a total area of more than 27,000 square meters and a capacity of over 44,000 worshipers.

The construction of the mosque began in 2003 and was completed in 2008. It was built by Sheikh Abdullah Saleh Al Ahmar, a prominent businessman and politician in Yemen, as a gift to the Yemeni people. The mosque is named after him and his family.

The mosque has a unique architectural design that combines traditional Yemeni and modern Islamic elements. It features four minarets, each over 100 meters tall, and a central dome that is 25 meters in diameter. Zabid is a small town located in western Yemen, near the Red Sea coast. It is renowned for its well-preserved architecture that dates back to the 16th century when it was an important center of Islamic learning and the capital of the Zaydi state.

In recognition of its rich cultural heritage and historic significance, Zabid was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993. However, the town has suffered damage and destruction in recent years due to conflict and neglect, making efforts to preserve and restore its heritage all the more urgent.

Zabid

Mudhaffar Mosque is a historic mosque located in the city of Taiz, Yemen. It is one of the most famous mosques in Yemen and is renowned for its unique architecture, intricate decoration and historical significance.

The mosque was built in the mid-13th century during the reign of the Rasulid dynasty. It was commissioned by Sultan Al-Mudhaffar, who ruled Yemen from 1249 to 1279. The mosque was constructed using local materials such as mud bricks, wood and stone.

The mosque is famous for its distinctive minaret, which is one of the tallest in Yemen. The minaret is around 42 meters (138 feet) tall and features intricate decoration and Quranic inscriptions. The mosque also has a large prayer hall that can accommodate thousands of worshippers.

Mudhaffar Mosque underwent several renovations and restorations over the centuries, most notably in the 16th and 18th centuries. The mosque has survived numerous earthquakes and wars and remains an important religious and cultural landmark in Yemen.

Mudhaffar Mosque

Al-Qahira Castle is a historical castle located in the ancient city of Taiz, Yemen. It is also known as the Cairo Castle, as it was built by the Mamluk Sultanate of Egypt in the 13th century. The castle is situated on top of a hill overlooking the city, providing a strategic defensive position.

The castle's construction began in 1174 and was completed in 1200. It was designed to withstand sieges and attacks, with walls that are over 6 meters thick in some places. The castle also features several towers, including the famous Qahira Tower, which stands over 30 meters tall.

In recent years, the castle has unfortunately been affected by the ongoing conflict in Yemen, with some parts of the castle suffering damage from shelling and airstrikes. Despite this, efforts are underway to preserve and restore the castle for future generations to enjoy.
