The Festetics Palace, located in Keszthely, Hungary, is a Baroque-style palace that was built in the 18th century for the Festetics family. It is one of the largest country houses in Hungary, covering an area of more than 18,000 square meters.

The palace was built by Kristof Festetics, a prominent member of the Hungarian aristocracy. The original design was created by architect Franz Anton Pilgram, but it was later modified and expanded by other architects. The palace features an impressive collection of artwork, furniture, and other historical artifacts, as well as a beautifully landscaped park and garden.

The Festetics Palace has a rich history and has served many different functions over the years. During World War II, it was used as a military hospital, and after the war, it became a Soviet military barracks. In 1948, the palace was nationalized by the communist government, and it was used as a museum until 1990, when it was returned to the Festetics family.

Today, the palace is open to the public and is a popular tourist destination. Visitors can explore the various rooms of the palace, including the grand staircase, the ballroom, the dining room, and the library. The palace also hosts cultural events throughout the year, including concerts, exhibitions, and festivals.
