Plaza de Bolívar is the main square in Bogota, the capital city of Colombia. The square is located in the historic district of La Candelaria, surrounded by several of the city's most important government buildings, including the Palace of Justice, the Cathedral of Bogota, the National Capitol, and the Primary Cathedral of Bogota.

The square is named after the Venezuelan military leader and South American independence hero, Simón Bolívar, who played a key role in the fight for independence from Spanish rule in the early 19th century. A statue of Bolívar, created by the Italian sculptor Pietro Tenerani in 1846, stands at the center of the square.

Plaza de Bolívar is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, and is often the site of political demonstrations and other public events. The square is also home to a number of street vendors and artists, as well as several historic buildings and monuments. The square's central location makes it a convenient starting point for exploring other attractions in the city, including the Gold Museum, the Botero Museum, and the Quinta de Bolívar, a museum dedicated to the life and legacy of Simón Bolívar.
