Dochula Pass is a high mountain pass located at an elevation of 3,116 meters above sea level in Bhutan. It is situated on the road between Thimphu and Punakha and offers stunning views of the Himalayan mountain range.

The pass features 108 chortens, or stupas, which were built by the Queen Mother of Bhutan to honor the Bhutanese soldiers who died in a conflict with Indian rebels in 2003. The chortens are arranged in three layers, with 45 chortens on the first layer, 36 on the second, and 27 on the third. The pass also features a large prayer wheel that visitors can spin to earn merit.

In addition to its scenic views and cultural significance, Dochula Pass is a popular destination for trekking and hiking. The surrounding mountains offer a range of trails suitable for both novice and experienced hikers. Visitors can also enjoy camping, bird watching, and mountain biking in the area.

Rinpung Dzong, also known as Paro Dzong, is a Buddhist monastery and fortress located in the Paro District of Bhutan. It was built in the 15th century by Drung Drung Gyalpo, the Tibetan Buddhist master, to defend against Tibetan invasions. The Dzong is a magnificent example of Bhutanese architecture, with its massive white walls, colorful artwork, and sloping roofs.

The name Rinpung Dzong translates to "Fortress on a Heap of Jewels" and it is considered one of the finest examples of traditional Bhutanese architecture. The Dzong has been the site of several historical events, including a battle between Tibetan and Bhutanese forces in the 17th century.

Today, Rinpung Dzong serves as the administrative center and monastic body of Paro District, as well as a venue for festivals and religious ceremonies. The Dzong houses several temples, including the main temple, which is dedicated to Guru Rinpoche, and the upper temple, which is dedicated to the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.

Paro Taktsang, also known as the Tiger's Nest Monastery, is a sacred Buddhist site located in the Paro Valley of Bhutan. Paro Taktsang was originally built in the 17th century, but has been rebuilt several times due to damage from fires and earthquakes. Despite these setbacks, the site remains a magnificent example of traditional Bhutanese architecture and is considered a national treasure.

Visitors to Paro Taktsang are required to hike to the site, a journey that takes several hours and is considered strenuous. However, the views and the spiritual significance of the site make the effort well worth it for many visitors. Today, Paro Taktsang continues to be a major pilgrimage site for Buddhists, attracting thousands of visitors each year.

Trongsa Dzong is an impressive fortress located in the Trongsa district of Bhutan. It is the largest dzong fortress in Bhutan and one of the most iconic landmarks in the country. The fortress was built in 1644 by Chogyal Minjur Tempa, who is also known as the first governor of Trongsa. The Burning Lake, also known as Mebar Tsho, is a sacred site located in the Tang Valley of Bhutan. It is known for the legend associated with it, which recounts the story of Pema Lingpa, a famous Buddhist saint and treasure revealer.

According to the legend, Pema Lingpa, who was believed to have been blessed with supernatural powers, had a vision of a hidden treasure at the bottom of the lake. He went to the lake, and despite the skepticism of the people who gathered to watch, he jumped into the water with a butter lamp and emerged with a chest containing the treasure.

The Burning Lake is so named because it is said that even though the lake appears to be calm and serene, the water is always boiling deep below the surface. It is also believed that the flames of the butter lamp that Pema Lingpa carried when he jumped into the lake could still be seen burning at the bottom of the lake.

The Burning Lake is considered a sacred site for Bhutanese Buddhists, and many pilgrims visit the site each year to make offerings and seek blessings. The lake is also surrounded by beautiful scenery, and visitors can enjoy a peaceful and picturesque setting.

Khangchendzonga National Park is a protected area located in the Indian state of Sikkim. It was established as a national park in 1977 and was later declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016.
